This is a Fossil of a Lycopod Tree Root or Stigmaria. It is from the Pennsylvanian Age, Location is KY. It measures approx. 14.5" long x 3.5" wide: thickness is 1.6": weight is 2.286 kgrams.
Fossil Lycopod Tree Root – is a section of a Stigmaria from the Pennsylvanian age approximately 310 million years old. A Stigmaria is a form taxon for common fossils and is found in carboniferous rocks. These swap forest trees grew up to 50 meters and were anchored by an extensive network of branching and underground structures.
